We would like to share today’s public launch of MochiAds with all our MochiBot users. When we’re not working hard on making MochiBot better, we also support another product MochiAds, an advertising network for flash game developers to make money off of their games. Today we officially throw open the doors to the public.
MochiAds is a free way for independent game developers to make money from their creations by inserting ads into games, without the hassle of contracts or exclusivity. Wherever games travel on the web, you get rewarded for plays. Our tool allows control over where and how often ads show on a per-domain basis, and we also provide cool perks like hosting your game on our servers and reaching millions of peeps through our distribution deals.
We hope you check out our new site! Send us an email at team at mochiads.com if you have any feedback or questions.

As many of you may have noticed over the past few weeks the MochiBot reports fell further and further behind. Everyone here has since put their efforts behind upgrading the system to get the reports up to date.
Once you’re logged into MochiBot you’ll notice much faster response times and also up to date reporting (just like the good ol’ days). The one thing that has changed in this new release is the Host Report. The report differs from old in that we no longer list out all of the host URLs. Instead we just list the domain where the SWF is being hosted with the ability to link directly to that file. We did this for a few reasons with the greatest being system performance improvements.
We hope that you enjoy the upgrades that we’ve made and if you don’t then please let us know by emailing us at feedback at mochibot.com. Please also let us know if you run into any bugs.

Our most recent development at Mochi Media has been to create a single sign-on system for all of our Mochi properties called MochiPass. The internal project name for this system was MochiPass and since it became so dear to us we decided to keep the name. Now you can simply login to both MochiBot and MochiAds with your alias or email address. Not all of you use MochiAds so this may not be of much use, but as we release other products in the future this will hopefully be more relevant. In the meantime you can enjoy some new features of MochiPass such as being able to log in with either your email or alias, an improved remember me system, and a pretty new login page.
If you run into any issues logging into MochiBot then please drop us a line at “support at mochibot.com”.

Mochi Media is working furiously on expanding and improving it’s products! To do this we need a kick-ass visual designer to join our ranks. You should be adept at web and interface design, with some XHTML/CSS skills for mega bonus points. You’ll be working with the team to develop new ideas on both MochiBot and MochiAds, as well as working on our new super secret classified projects. (Not to mention you get to work with our Mochi character ^__^)

We’ve been very quiet at Mochi Media recently. No, it’s not because of all the Guitar Hero II jam sessions
. We’ve been developing a new and exciting service called MochiAds. It’s an ad network for casual Flash games (kind of like Google AdSense is an ad network for websites). Our goal is to create an ecosystem for game developers to sustain themselves through the creativity and innovations they produce.
We took what we learned from MochiBot and crafted this network to benefit developers and advertisers alike. With MochiAds developers can now insert ads into their games to generate income. For advertisers they can reach a highly engaged audience through virally distributed games.
The most exciting feature for game developers is that ad revenue opportunities are not lost when Flash Pirates copy and repost the games. In fact, this behavior only benefits the developer through increased exposure.
We’re really excited about MochiAds because it provides an outlet for game developers to earn revenue from games they have worked tirelessly to create. The MochiAds program will pay developers throughout the life of their game as opposed to the more traditional method of paying a flat fee to purchase the game.
Some of the Flash community’s best game developers are already using MochiAds and have been giving great feedback on how well their games are doing. You can see some of the games that people have published with MochiAds on our Game Showcase. You can also find answers to your most pressing inquiries in our Publisher FAQ.
If you’re interested in profiting from your games then I’d highly recommend that you try MochiAds. We’re in private beta right now but we’ll invite more people in as space opens up. If you’re an advertiser interested in marketing your brand through the MochiAds network then please contact David Grant at (415)367-3788 or just send us a note.
For some additional reading here are some mentions of MochiAds around the blogospere as of November 22, 2006:

It’s been over a year since we first launched MochiBot (ya we forgot to celebrate…oops!). We went through a few database crashes, hundreds of Diet Cokes, thousands of Flash movies, nearly a billion hits and everything is still holding strong and running smoothly. After successfully performing a full system audit, a few load tests, and a bar mitzvah this past week we’re finally taking the BETA label off the site and officially announcing MochiBot v1.0. *woooo*
