Bloons

Bloons

The guys at Ninja Kiwi recently released a game called Bloons that has been taking the gaming community by storm. When I first saw the game I didn’t think much of it. But then once I started playing it was soon apparent that this game was going to be a hit. Who would have thought popping balloons as a monkey would be so much fun.

The game play is simple yet highly addictive. The graphics and sound quality all blend in to make the experience of the game quite enjoyable. You don’t have to take my word for it though. Bloons has been topping the MochiBot charts since its release and we don’t forsee a change anytime soon.

Enjoy the game and just be careful because you’ll quickly get sucked into some serious time wasting. I have yet to beat the game, but I’m on level 42 now and will soon achieve Bloons greatness! muahahaha

Happy Valentine’s Day

Love's Arrow

Love’s Arrow is a great Valentine’s treat by Cadin Batrack. Play cupid and shoot your arrows of love to fill those gray and lonely Valentine’s day souls with joy.

A perfectly timed release of this game has sent it to the tops of our MochiBot charts. Great job Cadin!

Game: Pumpkin Run

by JamesonH

The guys at varSTUDIOS have released a cute new game, Pumpkin Run, in the spirit of Halloween. It’s a simple shooting game, but the art is nice and holiday games are always a good excuse to waste some time. :)

Have a great Halloween weekend everyone!

Game: Red

by JamesonH

Red

Today’s game showcase is one that has captured the attention of game fans and developers alike from around the world. Long time MochiBot user, IvoryDrive, recently launched an overnight sensation by the name of Red. The game play of Red is somewhat reminiscent of the classic game Paratrooper or Missile Command. The object of the game is to prevent asteroids from destroying your battle station. Red’s appeal is in its simple and stylistic design along with great physics and the small details in the game.

If you’re not familiar with IvoryDrive’s work then you should also check out his other hit, Storm the House 2.

Game: Ultimate Pie Theft

Ultimate Pie Theft

The gents at Weebl recently launched a MochiBot powered Pac-man style game with some beloved characters from their site such as Wee Bull, Weebl, and Bobs. The object of Ultimate Pie Theft is to guide Wee Bull around the stage to eat up all Weebl and Bobs’ pies. The art is really nice and the game retains the cuteness and humor found in all their other works (my personal favorite).

Game: SWFROADS

If you’re a fan of games that require quick reactions, precise timing, and some fast fingers then you’ll love SWFROADS. The game is fun, addicting and a great way to pass a slow day at the office. The developer, Zooli, has seen SWFROADS quickly climb our popularity charts for his efforts in making a great game. Visit JayIsGames for a more in depth review.

Game: Click Drag Type 3

by JamesonH

CDT3

TheSimpleAndy just released a brain twisting trilogy of his famed Click Drag Type series. This third game adds five new puzzles along with puzzles previously released in CDT and CDT2. Not only are the new puzzles more challenging, but there have also been many improvements to both the interface and puzzles.

Some of these puzzles can be quite challenging so we’ve created a forum that will allow you to discuss the game and get hints for the puzzles.

We don’t usually sponsor games, but we made an exception with Andy because we were impressed by his enthusiasm, smarts, and most of all passion for the creative process. We were even more impressed when he consistently made his milestones, was proactive about communicating with us, and most importantly making a great final product. If you’re looking to hire a top notch guy, then we’d recommend you start here: Email TheSimpleAndy

Mesmerizing Flash - Neave.tv

by JamesonH

Neave.tv

It seems like a new online video site is launched every day and many of them are all clones of one another. Then a star is born and it’s called Neave.tv. The site isn’t so much a video community, uploading, sharing, blah blah blah destination. Instead it’s a showcase of how smart design and great coding can produce awe inspiring results (even at my 1920×1200 resolution). :P Here’s my personal favorite.

**Note: The site is both processor and bandwidth intensive so it’s not for the meager and weak.

You all may know of Paul Neave from other great works such as Flash Earth, Neave Games, or simply Neave.com. He’s definitely one of the most talented and creative interactive developers in the community. A big shout out to Neave from the Mochi Team for inspiring all of us! :D

Bunchball - Flash game platform

by JamesonH

I just met with Rajat Paharia, the creator of Bunchball, a few days ago. They’re doing some really intersting work with their Flash game platform. They’ve taken the work out of creating a multi-user infrastructure and a lot of the other tedious areas of game development.

Here’s a classic game developed by the very talented Paul Neave on their platform.

Flash Game: Monster Trucks

by JamesonH

Monster Trucks

Our friends at Stimunation have recently released a new game on Miniclip.com called Monster Trucks. It’s a beautifully designed game with photorealistic backgrounds and a great 2D feel. The goal of the game is to finish each level within the time limit while trying not to blow your truck up doing flips and smashing other cars. The physics of the game are great and takes me back to those days when I used to launch Matchbox cars off my school books.

This game is so popular that it’s topping our charts right now. Wow! :)
